Hareline Plain Lead Dumbbell Eyes are a cost-effective option with top-notch quality. They are commonly used as a weight addition on streamer flies, and can also be used on flats flies. They can also be used to invert the hook point so that it rides up. They make excellent eyes for bottom-dwelling patterns such as crabs, crayfish, and creature flies. With strategic placement, they can even add swimming and jigging motions to your flies. When placed on top of the hook, they create a weedless design that will bounce along the bottom. Hareline Plain Lead Dumbbell Eyes are heavier than Brass Eyes of the same size, and are shaped like a cylinder connecting two dumbbells. For a quick sinking fly, choose Lead Eyes. They are perfect for tying a variety of streamer flies, including Clouser Minnows, Intruders, and Bugger-type patterns. They are also commonly used for Sculpin imitations, Steelhead flies like Comets, and saltwater patterns such as the Chernobyl.
