Betts Tyzac Series Cast Net

Cast netting is one of the oldest methods of fishing, shrimping or catching bait. When selecting a net you should determine to use:

  • What do I want to catch (Size of mesh and net)
  • How deep is the water (Weight of net)
  • The length of net (Radius) is related to water deptch, kind of bait/shrimp, and speed of bait

For Bait Size:

  • 1″ to 2″ use 1/4″ mesh
  • 2″ to 5″ use 3/8″ mesh
  • 5″ to 12″ use 1/2″ mesh
  • 6″ to 10″ use 5/8″ mesh
  • 8″ to 12″ use 3/4″ or 1″ mesh

Water Depth:

  • Shallow 2-5′ use Betts Tyzac Series Net
  • Medium 2-8′ use Betts Hi Tider Series Net
  • Deep 2-10′ use Betts Old Salt Net
